Gas: Could Morocco Compete with Algeria with the Guercif Project?

The drilling of well MOU-6 in Guercif, launched on September 19, aims to assess Morocco's gas production potential, targeting approximately 3.5 billion m³ of recoverable contingent resources. Although these figures are modest compared to Algeria's 4,500 billion m³ of proven reserves, success could narrow the energy gap between the two countries. The project must demonstrate the reservoir's ability to produce at a sustainable commercial rate.
