Halloween in Texas: Police investigate youths filmed wearing Ku Klux Klan outfits

Videos showing people in the Ku Klux Klan’s white robes and pointed hoods sparked outrage in El Paso, Texas, over the weekend of October 24–25, 2026. Police Chief Peter Pacillas said on October 26 that officers were investigating whether the group, reportedly including young people, had broken the law, including by causing a public disturbance. Local NAACP president Carl B. Dwyer Jr. called the images painful and said silence in the face of hate amounted to complicity. Representative Veronica Escobar and Mayor Renard Johnson also condemned the incident.
