According to the 2026 Global Firepower Index, Egypt ranks as Africa's strongest military with a score of 0.3651, followed by Algeria (0.4849) and Nigeria (0.6097) in third. South Africa, Ethiopia, and Morocco round out the top six, while the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, and Tunisia complete the top ten. The index evaluates over 60 factors, with lower scores indicating greater military capability.
