117-year-old Gogo Annah Nkosi shares her secrets to a long life

Gogo Annah Nkosi, aged 117, celebrated her birthday with family and close friends in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni. She requires no chronic medication and has sharp eyesight despite hearing challenges. Born on June 7, 1909, in Standerton, Mpumalanga, she lived through two world wars, apartheid, and political violence. She remembers hiding in bushes and mountains during violent times, and considers acquiring her own house in the 1960s a huge accomplishment.
