12 minutes of madness: How Flydubai pilot, passengers saved plane midfall

Indian pilot Smit Machchhar, hailed as a hero by Israel and India after being stabbed by his co-pilot in an alleged attempt to crash a Flydubai plane, described how he fought to open the cockpit door during the attack. From his hospital bed in Saudi Arabia, he recounted feeling the aircraft plummeting and realizing he had one last chance to act. His efforts, along with passengers and crew storming the cockpit, subdued the attacker and prevented the plane from crashing. U.S. President Donald Trump praised an Israeli passenger, called a 'plumber,' for his quick actions that helped level the plane during its descent.
