13th Governors’ Conference: 82.7% of 81 recommendations fully implemented or underway, says Jacquemain Shabani

At the 23 October 2026 Cabinet meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Jacquemain Shabani Lukoo presented an assessment of recommendations from the 13th Governors’ Conference, held from 14 to 16 October. Of the 81 recommendations, 82.7% had been fully implemented or were being put into effect, while 17.3% had seen no implementation. Shabani also reiterated the urgent need for the central government to cover the salaries of provincial governors, mayors and administrators.
