Dr. Gabriel Oyediji, the National President of the Association of Orphanages and Home Operators in Nigeria (ASOHON), stated that approximately 14 million children are in orphanages and motherless homes across Nigeria due to the government's irresponsible attitude. He emphasized that 95% of these children are in private homes, which are often neglected by the government, complicating their access to education and care. Oyediji also noted that five home operators are currently in police custody in Minna for documentation issues.
