Former journalist crowned king of Uganda’s Tooro kingdom

Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma, a former journalist, was crowned king of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom following a succession dispute after the death of King Oyo. His appointment came after a period of conflict over the throne. He succeeds Oyo as the new king of Tooro. The crowning ceremony was held recently in the presence of local community members.
