Ebonyi Group Condemns Killings in Anambra, Calls for Justice

The Ebonyi Unity Forum in Anambra State condemned the alleged killings of 23-year-old Mmesoma Umeorini in Uga and an 18-year-old boy in Ori-Eri, both in Aguata Local Government Area. Umeorini was reportedly killed by her boyfriend after a breakup, while the teenager was allegedly killed by his father. Led by President-General Chief Moses Ofoke and Secretary Aloke Stanley, the forum urged police and security agencies to conduct impartial, transparent investigations and prosecute anyone found responsible, while warning residents against retaliation and collective blame of Ebonyi indigenes. It also called on communities to preserve peace and avoid spreading unverified information.
