Ivory Coast’s Minister of the Interior and Security inaugurated four border posts on October 17, 2026, in Dohouba, Péhékan-Barrage, Gbeunta and Doubasso. Located across the departments of Zouan-Hounien, Toulepleu, Danané and Tengréla, the facilities were funded by Italy and built by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). They are intended to strengthen border checks, surveillance and security while supporting the free movement of people. The posts at Dohouba, Péhékan-Barrage and Gbeunta also include dormitories to improve staff working conditions.
