JOHESU is mobilising health workers across Nigeria for possible industrial action over an approximately 13-year delay in adjusting the CONHESS salary structure. At a virtual meeting on October 29, 2026, the union recalled that President Bola Tinubu had promised to implement the adjustment on June 5, 2023. JOHESU accused the government of allowing the process to stall because of the Presidential Committee on Salaries’ inaction and warned it would resist further obstruction. It urged members to remain peaceful while awaiting further directions from the NLC and TUC.

FG deploys experts to Ogun over recurring gas emissions in schools

The Federal Government has sent a specialised technical team to Ogun State to investigate recurring subsurface gas emissions that have raised health concerns and disrupted classes at secondary schools in the Ijebu axis.
