20 countries propose global oversight body to manage AI dangers

Twenty countries and the European Union have called for international cooperation to ensure AI remains under human control, including the potential creation of a global oversight body. The declaration, released by Finnish President Alexander Stubb, urges governments and industry to act immediately to develop AI in line with international law. Signatories include leaders from countries such as Germany, South Africa, and Canada, while the United States and China did not join this initiative.
