2023: Cyberattacks targeted INEC platforms — Okoye

Festus Okoye, a former National Commissioner of INEC, revealed that the commission's digital platforms were targeted by cyberattacks during the 2023 presidential election. Despite INEC's assurances regarding the activation of the Result Viewing Portal, IReV, the portal remained inactive for an extended period, raising concerns. Okoye explained that technical difficulties hindered the uploading of results, and while he noted cyberattacks, he could not determine their impact on the issues experienced.
