Thibaut Courtois has weighed in on the 2026 Ballon d’Or debate, with the winner set to be announced at a ceremony in London on Monday. The Real Madrid goalkeeper would prefer his teammate Kylian Mbappe to win, saying no player was individually better than him this year. Courtois acknowledged, however, that Mbappe won no trophies. He also said Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal had a worse 2026 World Cup than Mbappe, despite winning the title and the league.
