2026 U-17 Women's World Cup: Flamingos showed courage against North Korea, says Busari

Nigeria beat defending champions North Korea 3-1 on Friday to reach the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. After losing 2-1 to Poland and then defeating Puerto Rico 2-0, the Flamingos completed a turnaround by dominating their final group match, though one goal was ruled out. Head coach Akeem Busari praised his players’ courage against a North Korean side that had scored 12 goals in its first two games. Nigeria will face Group B’s runners-up in Sale on Thursday.
