FIFA has confirmed that Ismail Elfath will referee the 2026 World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina. The American official has overseen three matches in the tournament, including Norway's last-16 win over Brazil where he was involved in two contentious penalty calls. He also refereed Netherlands' 2-2 draw with Japan and Spain's 1-0 win over Uruguay, in which he sent off Augustin Canobbio.
