2027: ADC-PCC challenges Tinubu to defend failure to deliver electricity

The ADC Presidential Campaign Council is demanding that Bola Tinubu account for his 2023 campaign pledge on electricity and says he should not seek a second term without fulfilling it. In a statement by media director Kola Ologbondiyan, the council cited persistent outages, national grid collapses, rising bills and continued estimated billing despite the Presidential Metering Initiative. It argued that legislation and bond programmes cannot replace reliable power and urged the APC to address Tinubu’s commitment directly. The administration’s electricity record, it said, will be a major issue ahead of the January 16, 2027 election.
