2027 AFCON qualifiers: “We will have two very difficult matches... we’ll need 12 points to qualify” (Sébastien Desabre)

DR Congo coach Sébastien Desabre announced a 26-man squad on November 6 for the two 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Sierra Leone. The Leopards have six points after winning their first two games, but Desabre says 12 points will be needed to qualify and cautions that Sierra Leone will be a difficult opponent. Cédric Bakambu returns to the squad alongside established players Chancel Mbemba, Arthur Masuaku and Yoane Wissa. Théo Bongonda, Aaron Van Bissaka and Samuel Essende are absent.
