2027: APC urges INEC to stick to election timetable

APC National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda urged Nigeria’s electoral commission, INEC, to strictly follow its published timetable for the 2027 general elections. Speaking in Abuja during a meeting with an ECOWAS pre-election fact-finding mission, he called for equal treatment of political parties and warned against changing deadlines in ways that could advantage one party. Yilwatda said APC had about 13 million members, 31 governors, 88 senators and 208 members of the House of Representatives, but argued that its size should not be used to intimidate the opposition. He also called for all parties to have equal access to the media, campaign venues and other legitimate platforms.
