2027: Battle for Zamfara North Senatorial District thickens as Shinkafi picks APC form

Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared his intention to run for the Zamfara North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general election. He emphasized that since 1999, the district has lacked effective representation in the Senate, denying the people the dividends of democracy. Shinkafi also stated that the senatorial seat should be zoned to Shinkafi Local Government to promote equity and inclusivity.
