The Democratic Republic of the Congo’s 2027 budget proposal, valued at 56,930 billion Congolese francs, is under review in the National Assembly and is nearly 12% higher than the 2026 revised budget. Prime Minister Judith Suminwa announced a provision of 400 billion francs for elections, along with 181 billion francs for census and identification operations. The funding could support the CENI, which faces financial difficulties and delays in carrying out its 2025–2029 roadmap ahead of the combined 2028 elections.
