2027: Court declares APC UK congress illegal

The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama has declared the United Kingdom chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) illegal and nullified its congress. Justice Peter Kekemeke ruled that the Nigerian Constitution and electoral laws do not recognize diaspora chapters of political parties. The case was brought by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The court held that political parties cannot establish formal structures outside Nigeria.
