2027: CSOs warn against imposition of candidates

A coalition of civil society organizations, under the Nsukka Democratic Movement, warned political actors in the Enugu North senatorial district against a deliberate attempt to impose candidates. Secretary General James Ezema emphasized that what is at stake goes beyond mere elections, threatening the very soul of democracy in the Nsukka zone. The movement condemned backroom arrangements aimed at pre-determining candidates, stating that any candidate emerging from such processes will lack legitimacy in the eyes of the people.
