2027: Ebonyi PDP Governorship Candidate’s Spokesman Denies Defection Rumours

Chief Emmanuel Igwe, spokesman for Ebonyi PDP governorship candidate Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, denied that he was considering defecting to the APC. He said he went to the Ecumenical Centre in Abakaliki on November 1 to attend to a personal matter with Rev. Father Abraham Nwali, after ignoring an invitation to a town hall for former officials who served under David Umahi. At the venue, Igwe exchanged pleasantries with several political figures, including former Deputy Governor Chigozie Ogbu and Senator Julius Ali Ucha, and left before the event began. He said he remains committed to the PDP and Odii’s candidacy, and urged people not to interpret ordinary social interactions as a change in political allegiance.
