2027: INEC considers full systems audit, mock presidential election

Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is considering a full audit of its electoral technology systems and a mock presidential election as part of preparations for the 2027 general election. INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan disclosed this after receiving British High Commissioner Richard Montgomery. The proposals stem from concerns about election technology reliability from the 2023 election. INEC also plans to review its cybersecurity architecture.
