2027: INEC trains stakeholders on election risk management in Osun

Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) held a workshop on election risk management in Osogbo on Thursday as it prepares for the 2027 general election. Oluwatoyin Babalola, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Osun State, said successful elections require deliberate preparation, effective coordination and commitment from all stakeholders. Participants discussed potential electoral risks and ways to address them through stronger communication and cooperation. Attendees included members of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security, civil society representatives and electoral officers from INEC’s 30 local government offices in Osun.

DRC: 2025 Budget Accountability Bill Declared Admissible by National Assembly

On October 28, 2026, the DRC National Assembly declared admissible the bill accounting for the 2025 budget, presented by Finance Minister Doudou Fwamba Likunde Li-Botayi. Total revenue reached 41.979 trillion Congolese francs, or 82% of projections, while domestic revenue amounted to 30.25065 trillion francs, achieving 98.70% of its target. Customs and excise, tax, and non-tax revenues all exceeded their projections, and domestic funds supported infrastructure, agricultural equipment, and the Local Development Program for the 145 territories. The bill was referred to the Ecofin Commission, which has seven days to submit its report.
