2027: Political dynamics favour Tinubu, says Deputy Senate President

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin said he expects Bola Ahmed Tinubu to win Nigeria’s January 16, 2027 presidential election, citing political analysts’ assessments and the current political climate. At the inauguration of campaign committees in three local government areas of Kano State, he urged APC members to mobilise for all the party’s candidates. Barau praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s move from the NNPP to the APC and said Kano’s political unity could bring development benefits to the state. He called on the committees to campaign actively and secure votes for the party.

Bulgaria’s Iotova leads in presidential run-off exit polls

Bulgaria’s acting President Iliana Iotova led the presidential run-off with about 51 percent of the vote, compared with roughly 44 percent for rival Andrey Gyurov, according to three exit polls.
