2027 Polls: CJN Warns Judges Against Politicians Manipulating the Law

Nigeria’s Chief Justice, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, warned judges not to let politicians manipulate the legal system ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking at a roundtable for court heads organized by the National Judicial Institute in Abuja, she cited forum shopping, concealment of related proceedings and attempts to secure conflicting court orders. She urged court leaders to ensure election disputes are handled promptly and impartially, require full disclosure of relevant facts and resist political pressure.
