2027 polls: Voter register nears 100m — INEC

Nigeria's national voter register is nearing the 100 million mark ahead of the 2027 general elections, with 10,772,421 new registrants recorded during the latest Continuous Voter Registration exercise. INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, announced the deployment of a real-time election readiness tracker to monitor preparations across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. This initiative aims to enhance proactive election management and ensure eligible voters are not disenfranchised due to logistical issues.
