2027 Presidency: INEC absent as court defers hearing in case against Jonathan

The Federal High Court in Abuja deferred the hearing of the suit challenging former President Goodluck Jonathan's eligibility to contest the 2027 presidential election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), listed as a defendant, failed to send legal representation to court. Judge Peter Lifu expressed his displeasure at the slow pace of the proceedings and imposed a fine of 1 million Naira on the plaintiff for lack of diligence.
