2027: There’ll be consequences for misconduct, INEC chair warns officers

INEC chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan warned electoral officers that there will be consequences for misconduct during the 2027 general elections. Speaking at a meeting in Lagos, he emphasized the importance of neutrality and integrity in their duties, stating that partisan leaning and administrative negligence would not be tolerated. Amupitan also reminded officers that the Electoral Act requires them to swear an oath of loyalty and neutrality.
