2030 World Cup: Lekjaa says regulations promise the final to Morocco
Fouzi Lekjaa, president of Morocco’s Royal Football Federation, says the 2030 World Cup final should be held at the Grand Stade Hassan II near Casablanca because it is set to have the largest capacity. The Benslimane venue is planned to hold 115,000 spectators, while Spain is also pursuing the final, including with Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu. FIFA will make the decision after considering infrastructure, hosting conditions and operational requirements as well as capacity. Lekjaa expects the stadium to be completed in early 2028, allowing Morocco’s national team and potentially Wydad and Raja Casablanca to play there before the World Cup.
