23 dead, 143 infections recorded as diphtheria outbreak sweeps across Plateau

Plateau State Health Commissioner Nicholas Baamlong confirmed 23 deaths and 143 suspected cases of diphtheria outbreak. Identified patients are quarantined and receiving treatment at hospitals in Jos. Baamlong also highlighted challenges in confirming suspected cases due to the lack of specialized containers for transporting samples.
