During his tour in Casamance, Minister of Armed Forces Yankhoba Diémé conveyed a message from the President and Prime Minister for the 24th anniversary of the Joola shipwreck. He announced that Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Mohamed Lô will preside over the commemorative ceremony in Ziguinchor on September 26. The minister urged religious and traditional authorities to organize prayers for the victims and emphasized the importance of remembrance, national cohesion, and safety to prevent future tragedies.
