25 million CFA francs collected, several victims reported… Blaise Diagne High School supervisor under investigation

Cheikh Yaba Touré, 49, a teacher and supervisor at Blaise Diagne High School, was arrested in Mbacké on October 29, 2026, following information from the Biscuiterie police station in Dakar. He is suspected of defrauding around ten people by promising European visas, causing provisional losses estimated at 25 million CFA francs; he admitted collecting the money, with deposits ranging from 1 million to 1.8 million CFA francs. Touré says he handed the funds to his associate, B. Mangassa, who allegedly disappeared after receiving them. Seven people from Dakar came forward as victims; Touré was placed in police custody and an investigation is underway.
