“They found him hanged”: Prominent merchant Abdoulaye Diallo dies by suicide in his shop

Abdoulaye Diallo, a merchant in the Tilène neighborhood of Ziguinchor, was found dead in his shop in October 2026 after neighbors raised the alarm over an unusual silence. The central police station and forensic police visited the scene, and firefighters took the body to the regional hospital morgue. An autopsy is planned. Suicide is the leading theory, but an investigation under the prosecutor’s supervision is underway to determine the circumstances of his death and reconstruct his movements beforehand.
