37 miners’ death: IGP Disu visits Niger, vows full investigation

Inspector-General of Police Rilwan Disu visited Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago to promise a thorough investigation into the deaths of 37 suspected illegal miners in custody. The governor described the incident as very sad and noted that preliminary autopsy observations raised concerns, including skin peeling and foaming from the mouths of the deceased. An investigative committee has been formed to examine the circumstances surrounding these deaths.
