South Kivu: Pierrot Mushigo launches book « The Roots of Kamanyola »

Writer and environmental entrepreneur Pierrot Mushigo launched his book « The Roots of Kamanyola » in Kamanyola, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, on October 24, 2026. The 59-page work traces the town’s history, shaped by population movements, trade, cultures and traditions in the Great Lakes region. After three years of research and investigation, Mushigo describes the book as an initial contribution that others can expand and says it aims to preserve local memory and pass the community’s heritage on to future generations.
