Injured, Mbappé Shows Himself Cycling: What Mourinho Said Ten Days Earlier

On October 4, 2026, Kylian Mbappé posted a video from Madrid showing him cycling and smiling, which Spanish media see as a provocation towards José Mourinho. The Portuguese coach had stated on September 25 in a podcast that playing football while injured, especially cycling, was risky and could lead to missed matches or serious injury, which the Spanish press interpreted as a subtle critique of Mbappé. The video is part of his rehabilitation images, contrasting with Mourinho’s criticism of players going out without the club’s knowledge. Mbappé has not explained the meaning of his post, but it indicates he is following a recovery program.
