OpenAI faces new lawsuits over Tumbler Ridge mass shooting tragedy

OpenAI is facing another wave of lawsuits following the February mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, which left eight dead. Thirty new complaints were filed in a U.S. federal court in California, involving teachers and students who witnessed the shooting. The lawsuits accuse OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman, of negligence and aiding the shooting due to their failure to report the shooter's intentions, Jesse Van Rootselaar.
