Billionaires Fund Nigerian Artists, Sarkodie Says

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie says Nigerian artists receive financial backing from billionaires and business executives, unlike their Ghanaian counterparts. On the When We Sit podcast, he said Ghanaian musicians often have to fund their work themselves, while Nigerian investors take risks to support local talent. Sarkodie recalled being surprised by the amount billionaire Tony Elumelu said he was investing in a Nigerian artist he sees as the future of Afrobeats. He urged wealthy Ghanaians and business leaders to follow the Nigerian example.
