More than 2,000 Dakar students benefit from Yango’s expanded “Safer Journeys to School” initiative in Senegal

Yango has expanded its “Safer Journeys to School” initiative to Senegal in partnership with LASER International and local authorities to improve safety around schools in Dakar. The project covers Ibrahima Bèye Primary School in Fass and El Hadj Malick Sy School in the Médina district, where crosswalks, speed bumps, signs, road markings and protective barriers have been installed. Nearly 2,000 students also took part in road-safety awareness sessions and practical demonstrations. iRAP awarded the areas around both schools at least three stars under its “Star Rating for Schools” assessment.
