Iran denies involvement in Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

Iran rejected Saudi accusations that it had encouraged the Houthis’ escalating attacks on the kingdom. Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said Yemen’s forces acted according to their own interests and renewed Tehran’s offer to mediate between the sides. The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted drones and missiles on Friday, including a ballistic missile over Yanbu, while the UN Security Council condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
