Pakistan pledges full commitment to defence of Saudi Arabia

A senior Pakistani military officer, Lieutenant-General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, stated that his country will defend Saudi Arabia against any aggression. He emphasized that Pakistan is already deployed to protect the holy sites of Mecca and Medina. While he did not specify whether Riyadh had requested more Pakistani troops, he affirmed that Pakistan would act as required by Saudi leadership.
