Justice Minister Guillaume Ngefa confirmed the arrest of Fils Benoît Mukoko, a ruling UDPS official and former deputy director general of RASKIN, who will stand trial for inciting violence. Mukoko had called for weapons and machetes to be distributed in Kinshasa and for a sit-in outside the Belgian embassy. He was arrested Thursday at his home in the Lemba commune after being dismissed from RASKIN and receiving an 88-day media ban from the CSAC. The UDPS disavowed his remarks, which the government also condemned.
