ICPC Re-Arraigns Adeyemi on 22 Counts

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) re-arraigned Adeniyi Adeyemi before the FCT High Court in Abuja on 22 counts involving alleged forgery and impersonation. Adeyemi pleaded not guilty. The fresh case followed the October 12 dismissal of an earlier eight-count charge after an attorney-general’s review found that the FCT High Court, not the Federal High Court, had jurisdiction. The ICPC alleges that Adeyemi forged documents to present the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) as an official government body, sought more than 27 billion naira for it, and paid two officials to secure benefits.
