CA Proposes New Licensing Framework for Alarm Response Systems and Data Centres

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has proposed new licensing requirements for GSM-based alarm response systems, including an initial fee of Ksh100,000. The proposed framework aims to regulate alarm systems using SIM-enabled devices and mobile networks. Additionally, a standalone data center license would be required, with an application fee of Ksh5,000, and licenses would remain valid for 15 years.
