800 households targeted in a flood prevention project in Kindu

A flood prevention project was launched on April 25, 2026, in Kindu, targeting 800 households in the communes of Kasuku, Alunguli, and Mikelenge. Funded by the NGO Start Ready and Start Network, the sixty-day project will include activities focused on anticipation, rapid response, and stabilization. Hugues Katembo, the project supervisor, emphasized the importance of targeting the most needy households using previously established lists.
