Health crisis in Delta as Allied Health Workers strike escalates

Health services in public hospitals across Delta State are under pressure due to the ongoing strike by allied health professionals, who are demanding their grievances be addressed. The State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals, Comrade Uruwayino Charles Samuel Jr, stated that the strike followed months of unsuccessful negotiations with the state government over allowances and working conditions. Despite an agreement on allowances, the implementation of the committee's recommendations has been delayed, prompting workers to continue their strike.
