94-year-old woman tied up during Kenridge house robbery

A 94-year-old woman was tied up in her backyard during a robbery in Kenridge, Cape Town, on Saturday, October 31, between 3:30pm and 4:30pm. Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Frederick van Wyk said the suspect stole a laptop and two cellphones; no arrests have been made. The attack followed a robbery in Aurora on October 30, in which four suspects tied up an adult man and woman and stole iPhones, jewellery and a wallet. The incidents have raised concerns across Cape Town’s northern suburbs about attacks on elderly residents and a possible organised crime syndicate.
